Why your LinkedIn post sounds like AI
The patterns readers notice
I can spot AI-written LinkedIn posts from a mile away. Do you see it too?
You know what I’m talking about. Those posts that all seem to be saying the same thing, but with the names of different companies and products switched out.
They start with a one-line attention grabber.
They’re written in short, choppy sentences.
They’re all in the “It’s not X, it’s Y” format.
They give you lists that are exactly three things long.
They end with a one-line wisdom nugget in the final line.
They’re all littered with the same canned vocabulary (delve! testament! landscape!).
You can’t miss it.
Why editing doesn't fix it
Most of the time, when you try to edit an AI-written sentence word-by-word, you end up with a text that still sounds AI-ish.
The most important thing to know about AI-written content is that it rarely works to just replace each word with a less formal-sounding one.
It’s not that you should never do that. If you see the word delve, you can definitely change it to something else, like dig into. But no matter what word you pick, you’ll still end up with the same opening line that’s designed to draw you in.
You’ll still have the same three-item list, the same “now, let’s get into it” transition, and the same conclusion that basically repeats the first sentence.
AI writing tends to be very structured and formulaic, and that’s what makes it stand out as AI writing. That’s something that doesn’t change when you swap out delve for something else.
Starting from your facts instead
Start from the facts.
Soul is not a tool that edits an AI-generated draft that is based on the content that you provide. Instead, it writes an entirely new LinkedIn post based on the facts.
What are the facts? It’s whatever happened. You might not have a word-perfect version of it in your mind, but you’ll be able to describe it in a rough sentence or two. You just need to make sure you get the names and numbers right.
Then Soul will write a brand new post based on that content. The text is created by a model that has been trained specifically on original posts, written by real people, about their actual experiences.
Soul doesn’t change any of the names or numbers that you give it. It will always use them exactly, and never omit them.
